What is OSD Certificate?
The Austrian language certificate ÖSD is a state-approved examination and assessment system for German as a foreign and second language. Examinations are carried out and evaluated according to uniform standards and are not subject to compulsory attendance, i.e. you do not have to attend a German course before this examination.
With its 380 test centres in 30 countries, the Austrian German Language Diploma (OSD) is recognized and of international importance.
ÖSD certificate A2
Candidates for the OSD certificate A2 should be able to communicate in a basic way in simple everyday situations of everyday and professional life.
ÖSD certificate B1
The B1 German certificate is a joint certificate from OSD, Goethe-Institut, WBT and the University of Fribourg. This certificate is generally recognized by employers as sufficient proof of German language skills and improves your chances of success on the job market.

ÖSD certificate B2 – university entrance exam
For B2 German Intermediate, candidates should be able to express themselves clearly and in detail on a wide range of topics and engage in spontaneous and fluent conversation with a native speaker. The certificate serves as proof of the learner’s language skills in more public and professional situations. Technical texts from the subject area of the learner are manageable.
ÖSD certificate C1 – university entrance exam
For the OSD C1 upper-level German exam, the participants should be able to deal with the broader context of different everyday and professional situations. The test demonstrates linguistic competence, which is characterized by a high degree of accuracy and appropriateness in relation to the situation.
